My Big Fat Guangdong Wedding
Getting engaged the way I did it was only a little crazy. I knew a Chinese wedding would be somewhat insane, but had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE just how crazy it would be.
If I hadn’t already been a certified lunatic, getting married here would have made me one. 
This isn’t just the tale of the wedding day. That part was exhausting, but didn’t even begin to compare to what it took beforehand to make a relatively simple Guangdong wedding happen.
Double Happiness
If you find yourself engaged in China, you have 2 choices. Elope, or strap in tight for something much much crazier than you can possibly imagine. If you chose the latter, prepare to lose at least 3 times more money than you budgeted as well as whatever is left of your mind.
Was it draining, both mentally and financially? Yes.
Was it worth it? For anyone normal, I’d say no. For anyone crazy like me, YES!

This time, there will be pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. I may even take the time to edit out some of the typos which somehow slipped into the text.
With any luck, I’ll be done before my next wedding anniversary in April.

In December, the thought was “No problem, it’s next year, plenty of time.”
Oh my. The wedding is now only 10 or so weeks away.
