Mission: Second Honeymoon

 

One honeymoon just isn’t enough.  The first honeymoon was so much fun, that some sort of encore was called for.

It was a mission of exploration.

It was a mission of mercy.

It was a mission of shopping.

It was a mission of  

And all rolled into one, it was Mission: Second Honeymoon.

First, let me explain the exploration part.  I’ve almost never been to Hunan Province.  I’ve ridden trains through it and even changed trains a couple of times.  Even though that meant changing train stations, that’s kind of like riding from LaGuardia to JFK and saying you’ve been to New York City.  It’s just not the same as getting out there and exploring.

Finally, I was going to get to spend some real time a little corner of Hunan.  It looked something like this:

If you’ve already read My Big Fat Guangdong Wedding and My Big Fat Guangxi Honeymoon, you should know that shopping is a critical part of any major project in China. 

As for  , were you really expecting something else for a second honeymoon?

Warning for the faint of heart:  This true tale of lunatic romance and adventure contains scenes involving , a mutant pizza,  sirens, flooding, an earthquake, a typhoon, cute girls , an ice age, an imminent volcanic eruption alarm, an alien abduction, a cannibalistic pig, and also an encounter between my wife and a bandit chicken.  As always, it’s going to be a wild ride, so hang on tight.
