The Times Square Kiss

USA Tour for the In-Laws

The Times Square Kiss

If you haven’t heard of The Times Square Kiss, it’s not my fault you fell asleep in history class.  Unlike some famous movie kisses, this one was a real kiss.  It happened in Times Square when World War II (better known as the Anti-Japanese War in China) ended.

So, on our travels in New York, we wandered northward in Manhattan and finally found our way to Times Square.  Since I try never to let an opportunity to make a fool of myself in public be romantic slip by, I grabbed my lovely wife and gave her a proper Times Square Kiss.

A few days later, we were walking in the High Line park, and I spotted the most amazing piece of artwork.  There was a beautiful painting of the Times Square Kiss on the side of a building.  Not only did I get a photo, but this called for another round of kissing.

And here’s what happened when I put these moments into one animated gif file:

That’s one small kiss for a Lunatic, one giant leap for all Lunatic kind.
